History of church
Established in the year 2000 with 6 households comprising 32 members. Initially, the church operated without a catechist until 2003. During this period, Tarubaiba, Karaitalu, and Ngounirang took the initiative to manage the church’s affairs with Hingkamba James serving as the Church Secretary.
From 2004 to 2005, Luikang Moses (Maram Centre) acted as the Catechist, while Hingkamba James continued as the Church Secretary for a second term. Following this, R. Kangba John (Ramlung) served as the Catechist from 2005 to 2011 with Ngounidisung Joseph as the Church Secretary.
Since 2012, Ng. Kabi Samuel of New Maram has been the catechist, assisted by Kihingba Francis as the Church Secretary. Punghingba and Ngounitaruba have consistently supported the church as Committee members. In 2015, Punghingba, Ngounitaruba, and Karaitalu were officially appointed to oversee the church’s operations. Currently, St. Paul Church Maram Kabinam has a total of 27 families.
The first baptisms were conducted in 2006 by Rev Fr. Varghese, with Namtiirai Paul (son of Poina) and James Pung (son of Punghingba) being baptized.
